Legislative Advocacy

California has a reputation as the most highly regulated state in the US…meaning compliance, taxation and unfunded mandates on business make California one of the worst business climates to run a staffing or recruiting business…. The CSP is the most active association representing the needs of the industry and the front-line defense against further punitive legislation.

Political Engagement

The CSP Political Action Committee (CSP PAC) raises money to help elect pro-employer candidates for state elective office. Supporting the political campaigns of business friendly candidates brings political weight and a higher profile to our industry and is a critical component of our overall legislative and government affairs efforts.

why choose us

A California Staffing and Recruiting Association

CSP has a team of lobbyists that we have worked with for many years. We have been very successful in moving bills forward, or amending bills, that are favorable to the staffing and recruiting industry.

While CSP dos not offer legal assistance as an association, we have several industry partners who are firms that deal in employment law, workers comp cases, unemployment cases, etc.

Many of our industry partners deal in financing and funding. Members of CSP have access to their information.

We schedule time at all of our statewide events for networking and socializing. If you ever had an issue and need help, our members and board are always available to talk!

CSP ‘s headquarters is located in Soquel, California.

Members have access to staff by email or phone. Additionally, there is an area on the CSP website where members can ask other members questions.

Statewide events
  • Annual Conference – open to all members and their staff
  • Owners Retreat – geared for staffing company leaders (invite only?)
Local events
  • Our regional chapters have many in person and virtual events

All members are assigned to a local chapter by geography. Multi office members can access the closest chapter to each of their offices. Virtual events are open to members of any chapter.

There will most probably be competitors of yours in CSP. They may be competitors due to geography, or type of business. CSP has a strict policy against poaching business or other staff members. Many of our members actually benefit from getting to know their competitors better – forming partnerships to serve clients and helping one an another to improve staffing in their local markets.

We have an “Ask the Expert” feature on our website that is open to all members.

We work with many Industry Partners from all areas of support to the staffing and recruiting world. They are happy to work personally with any member of CSP.

The CSP website is www.cspnet.org. There are member only sections where you can see events, talk with experts, find Industry Partners, etc.

CSP is always looking for new faces and ideas. Most members who are looking to join the board start by volunteering at their local chapter level, and then moving on to the state board. Board membership is not a requirement of CSP, but we’d love your help!

CSP has varying rates depending on the size of your company. At times there will be discounts and incentives for bringing to members to CSP.
